Rajasthani America is built around three overlapping identities — Marwari, Maheshwari and Rajasthani more broadly — and around business networks as much as geography. Almost no one reports Rajasthani to the Census; families report Hindi or Marwari. What is measurable is organisational: RANA nationally, and Teej Mahotsav in New Jersey, the largest celebration of its kind outside India.

The Short Answer
New Jersey is the largest Rajasthani hub in North America, and its Teej Mahotsav is the biggest outside India. The Bay Area is the organisational centre — RANA, the national association, is headquartered in Milpitas, and Fremont has been a sister city to Jaipur since 1993.
Chicago’s ARA has run since 1994 from Naperville, Washington DC’s Rajasthali since 1986, and Atlanta’s RAJA has 350+ member families. Dallas-Fort Worth and Houston both have large communities in states with no income tax.

About the Data
The Census records just 441 Rajasthani speakers nationally — a figure so low it tells you nothing except that almost nobody reports “Rajasthani” as a language. Families report Hindi or Marwari instead, and Marwari falls into a broad “other Indic languages” bucket with no metro breakdown.
Where we quote Hindi speaker counts above, they are labelled as such. Hindi is a link language across the whole North Indian belt, so those figures include families from Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Delhi and elsewhere. They tell you where a Rajasthani family will find a North Indian environment, not how many Rajasthanis live there.

The national body, headquartered in Milpitas in the Bay Area, federating local chapters. Local organisations vary in name — ARA in Chicago, RANT in Dallas-Fort Worth, RAJA in Atlanta, Rajasthali in Washington DC, RASA in Seattle — but most affiliate nationally.
Teej is the marker
Teej, the monsoon festival, is the defining Rajasthani celebration, and New Jersey’s Teej Mahotsav is the largest outside India. Where a metro holds a substantial public Teej rather than a private gathering, the community has real organisational depth.
Havelis, not just temples
Pushti Marg — the Vallabhacharya tradition centred on Shrinathji — is strongly associated with Marwari and Maheshwari families, and its places of worship are havelis rather than conventional mandirs. Atlanta’s Gokuldham and Houston’s VPSS are the notable American examples.
Dal baati churma is the food test
Where a restaurant serves dal baati churma, ker sangri or Rajasthani thali rather than generic North Indian, the community is large enough for businesses to respond. Washington DC has Jodhpur-style dal bati; Artesia in Los Angeles and Seattle’s Eastside both have options.
